So I decided to share three products that help with oily skin. There are more things that you can do though - trying a matte foundation, adding powder - in particular Blot powder from MAC or even lotions designed to control oil production....
But yeah, have a look at the products below as they form my kit of tried and tested oily skin products!
Blotting tissues - This is a quick fix. These tissues absorb any excess oil on the skin while leaving your make-up untouched. I prefer the tea tree oil tissues to regular ones so these Body Shop tissues are great.
Dark Angels Cleanser from Lush - This product has charcoal in it which helps with oil production and helps to draw out impurities in the skin. I am actually planning on getting a sample of this soon enough to try because I dare not buy it with dry skin! However I have yet to find a Lush product that doesn't do exactly what it says it does on the tin. I know there are a lot of male fans of this product - more then likely because its quite a deep cleaning product and men need products that are that little bit more aggressive then women because their skin is 3 times thicker then ours. There are also little bits of exfoliating sugar granules in this as well so you can use it as an exfoliator too.
MAC Green Gel Cleanser - This really is not made for dry skin. Which is a shame because its a nice product that works extremely well It's lathers up quite well and really removes any excess oil from the skin. If you have dry skin then I would recommend trying the Creme Wash (which smells like apples FYI) which is much gentler on the skin.
Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 - This stuff makes your skin feel amazing. It not only strips the skin of all dirt, sweat and make-up which cause blackheads but it really makes you feel clean. I've always been amazed by this because after I use my cleanser, I use this to remove any residue of the cleanser and still lots of make-up comes off! Brilliant! There are 4 clarifying systems in place and not all of them are for combination/oily like the number three. I think its the 1 or 2 that I use for dry skin. A staff member at Clinique will have way more information then me but it seems according to the website that 3 or 4 is the one to use!
MAC Volcanic Ash - Made with pieces of actual volcano. No seriously. The VAE was a limited product that was brought back by popular demand about a year ago and now in a more easy to use tube instead of that awkward pot! VAE works by removing any dead or flaky skin but also removes 88% of excess oil off the skin. I use this as a person with dry skin but I only use it once a month because it is a bit harsh on my skin. If your skin is oily then this is a god send product. It is messy though because the product is black and you will need a good cleanser to remove any ashy residue off the skin and out of the pores. The Clinique I recommended is great for that. I think there is charcoal in this and also sugar granules as well that help to remove dead skin and draw out impurities.
