'Wine bottle, electric light bulb and speaker', a diary page by JVL, 15 March 1962.
It depicts the precarious electricity arrangements in my Holborn flat when I was aged 22.
'Health and Safety' would not tolerate such an arrangement these days. This was the light-bulb above my studio desk and a speaker above it. As for the 1953 bottle of 'Nuits St George' wine I wonder if I ever had the good fortune to drink it before it became a candle holder! I do not remember ever being able to afford such a wine.
